Tickets and discounts

There are lots of ways to buy your tickets and many discounts on offer to suit a range of needs.

You can buy a ticket:

  • from our website;
  • by phoning 033 300 50 501;
  • at any station with a ticket office; or
  • at a ticket machine at a station.

If you cannot buy a ticket in any of these ways for accessibility reasons, you can buy your ticket from a conductor on the train or at your destination station. There will be no penalty and you can still get any discount that applies to you.

Railcards

You could save money on your train tickets by buying a railcard.

If you are disabled, you may be eligible for 1/3 off rail fares (for you and a friend) with a Disabled Persons Railcard.

Those aged 60 or over may be eligible for 1/3 off rail fares with a Senior Railcard.

Discounts without a Railcard

If you’re blind or partially sighted and travelling with a companion, or if you’re a wheelchair user, you can get a concessionary discount without a Disabled Persons Railcard.

Concessionary Travel

If you have a Concessionary Travel Pass from a Welsh Local Authority, you can travel free on many of our trains.

Season tickets for visually impaired customers

If you are registered visually impaired, a season ticket allows a companion to travel with you free of charge. It can be a different companion each time you travel. You can buy these season tickets at ticket offices.
