Due to a fault with barriers at a level crossing at Nantwich (NAN):
Services will be cancelled in both directions between Shrewsbury (SHR) and Crewe (CRE).
We expect the incident to last until 22:30 and disruption to services is expected until the end of the day.
What's Happened?
We have been made aware of a problem with level crossing barriers at Nantwich. We are unable to run any trains through the area.
This is affecting our services travelling between Crewe and Shrewsbury in both directions and our services between Manchester Piccadilly and Crewe.
We expect the incident to be cleared by the end of the day. Train services will be cancelled in the area until the end of the day. Services travelling between Crewe and Shrewsbury may also use a diversion which will take longer, please allow for delays of up to 60 minutes in both directions.
Alternative Travel Options:
Your ticket can be used on the following alternative routes to help you complete your journey, with the Train Operating Companies listed below at no extra cost:
- Manchester Piccadilly to Crewe in both directions with Northern
These arrangements are in place on services until the end of the day.
If you decide to travel from a different station due to this disruption and need to return to that station later, you will also be able to use your existing ticket to do this at no extra cost.
