Another happy customer 👊 The team really enjoyed this one. Super engaged group who had their minds challenged, as well as challenging each other in the best, most productive way imaginable 🫶. Some fantastic outputs for our commercial contracts and sustainability teams to take forward. These workshops are available to both internal teams at Transport for Wales as well as external businesses. So, if this is something that may be of interest to you, your team or your business, reach out via our DM's and book in a scoping call with one of our team 🙌 #innovation #problemsolving #openforbusiness Geoff Ogden Barry Lloyd Michael Davies Matthew Lewis Victoria Richards
A productive morning of post-its, biscuit’s and problem solving this week as the commercial contracts and sustainability teams came together to kick off our socially responsible working group. Looking forward to building on the foundations from this session and embedding the delivery of social value into our ways of working with the supply chain. Big shout out to Matthew Lewis , Barry Lloyd and the Lab by Transport For Wales for the brilliant facilitation 👍🏻

Fantastic to see cohort 5 alumni Mark Smith 🚲 & Garance Locatelli still smashing it. Hard work breeds results 💪. Well done both 🙌
Department for Transport: Best growth potential Award, TRIG 2025 🗺️ Making cycling networks visible, usable, and trusted
Winner of the Department for Transport (DfT), United Kingdom 🏆 Best Growth Potential Award, 2025 😁 Connected Places Catapult: Transport Research Innovation Grant (TRIG) What a way to cap off an unreal 6-month journey working with the DfT through their TRIG programme, testing our physical wayfinding and developing methods for integrating local safe cycling route data with third-party routing platforms, like Google Maps and Citymapper. 📱 Again, a huge thank you to everyone who has helped me and Garance Locatelli along this journey. The list keeps growing, but it is all really appreciated. Want to help us build a more connected Transport Network in Wales? We're on the look out for someone to run (or walk, wheel or cycle if the clumsy analogy fits) our programme of activities to integrate sustainable transport modes, lead on skills development and generally make it easier for people to make end to end journeys without the car. If you think that could be you, we'd love to hear from you.

How goes innovators 🫡 Busy day for the team so far today. The innovation team facilitated a workshop first thing with the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) to help ideate solutions around the use of public transport to their office in Treforest. A challenging topic but lots of outputs captured and plenty to consider moving forward 💪. The team are now well on their way to London, curtesy of Great Western Railway (GWR) , for 2 packed days full of all things mobility at the MOVE: Mobility Re-imagined conference in the Excel. We'll be supporting Llywodraeth Cymru / Welsh Government and Transport for Wales on stand 50 so pop on down if you fancy shooting the breeze around all things innovation 🙌. #innovation #MOVE:REIMAGINED #collaboration Barry Lloyd Michael Davies Matthew Lewis

How do Innovators 🤜 Opportunity post coming in hot for this Friday's catch up. We're looking to bring an aspiring innovator into the team for an action packed 12 months working throughout the Transport for Wales ecosystem! Whether you’re at university looking for a 12-month placement, or a recent graduate looking for a development opportunity, our 12-month placement programme offers a fantastic opportunity to gain insight into an ever-evolving industry from walking, wheeling & cycling to bus, rail and beyond 👀. This is a fantastic opportunity not least for the experience to be gained, but our very own innovation lead Matthew Lewis grabbed this opportunity with both hands back in 2021 and never looked back. We asked Matt what he thought of the placement and he had this to say: "the opportunity to work with the team through this placement back in 2021 was quite literally life changing. It plunged me into such an expanded role with diverse experiences. It was a huge learning curve but put an almighty flag in the ground that this was the career path I wanted to pursue. Years later, I'm still thankful to Barry Lloyd and Michael Davies for taking me on, showing me the ropes and bringing me into one of the best teams I've had the pleasure of working in." What else can we say. If you know anyone who would be suited to this incredible opportunity, please share and lets get them the best chance for a huge 12 months at the Lab 🙌 #opportunity #Innovation #teamwork Victoria Richards Geoff Ogden Justin James Rhiannon Breeze Sarah Smith
