Due to forecasted heavy snow between Llanelli (LLE) and Shrewsbury (SHR):
Services may be cancelled in both directions between Swansea (SWA) and Shrewsbury (SHR).
We expect the incident to last until the end of the day and disruption to services is expected until the end of the day.
Network Rail have closed the Heart of Wales line between Llanelli and Shrewsbury due to heavy snowfall overnight. Inspections have discovered power lines down and fallen trees blocking the railway.
You cannot travel - there are no trains running and we are unable to run Rail Replacement Bus services. Local bus services may also be affected.
Customers with tickets dated for Thursday 8th, Friday 9th and Saturday 10th January 2026 can travel any day up to and including Monday 12th January 2026 at no extra cost.
