If you’re heading anywhere else, you’ll need to join the queuing system at Cardiff Central.

The rear of Cardiff Central station will soon be redeveloped as part of the £140 million station enhancements project and Cardiff Crossrail programme, meaning the space previously used for post-event queuing for these routes will no longer be available.

Why now?

These changes give us the opportunity to engage with our customers more effectively on the day, with teams on the ground making sure everyone gets to the right place. We’ll continue to adapt our plans based on what we learn from the trial.

We recognise that this represents a change for passengers and ask that all passengers continue to check before travelling and remain respectful to our frontline staff who are there to help everyone get home safely.

We understand that this is a big change for you and while the trial means a longer walk for some, the move to Cardiff Queen Street comes with its benefits including:
 

• Dedicated queues for every line of route - we will be able to effectively split the queues to make sure you’re loaded onto the service you need as soon as possible. We know that sharing queues with other routes can be frustrating on event days. Operating from Cardiff Queen Street provides us with more space for queueing systems, meaning we can expand our queues from 3 to 9.
• Pay as you go customers will be able to tap in at Cardiff Queen Street the ticket gates and out at their chosen destination - simple and hassle-free travel.

There will be revenue queues in operation at Cardiff Central so please make sure you have your tickets ready for a speedy exit! For those using pay as you go there will be dedicated lanes where you can tap out with our revenue staff. You can purchase a ticket online through our app.

A one-way system around the station is in place to keep everyone safe and moving smoothly and swiftly. All customers will exit at the front of the station into the revenue queues. Changing platforms for a connecting service? No problem, just let our staff know and they can direct you straight to the platform you need.

For services to Ebbw Vale and Cheltenham Spa please head to Riverside car park (Platform 0).
 

Car park closure details for Penarth Road and Riverside will be confirmed soon.

The Cardiff Bus Interchange will close at 15:00 and will not reopen until the next morning.

Saunders Road taxi rank will close between 14:45 - 23:59.

Will I be able to exit from Cardiff Queen Street or Cardiff Central after the event?

Yes, you can exit from either station both before and after the event.
