Due to a low speed derailment at Wolverhampton (WVH):
We expect the incident to last until 12:00 and disruption to services is expected until the end of the day.
We have been made aware of a low speed derailment involving a freight train in the Wolverhampton area.
For safety, our services will be unable to run between Shrewsbury and Birmingham International until the incident has cleared.
Our services between Shrewsbury and Birmingham International are disrupted in both directions.
Please be aware that West Midlands Railway are also affected by this incident. You can check your journey with any operator at tfw.wales.
We expect the incident to be cleared by 12:00. Train services will be disrupted until 23:59.
Alternative Travel Options:
Your ticket can be used on the following alternative routes to help you complete your journey, with the Train Operating Companies listed below at no extra cost:
- Between Shrewsbury and Crewe in both directions with Transport for Wales until 12:00.
- Between Crewe/Stoke-on-Trent and Birmingham New Street in both directions with CrossCountry until 12:00.
- Between Crewe and Birmingham New Street in both directions with West Midlands Railway until 12:00.
These arrangements are in place on services until 12:00.
If you decide to travel from a different station due to this disruption and need to return to that station later, you will also be able to use your existing ticket to do this at no extra cost.
In addition to the above, we are currently sourcing road replacement transport.
