Update: Incident due to a tree blocking the railway between Ystrad Mynach (YSM) and Rhymney (RHY) until 09:00.

Due to a tree blocking the railway between Ystrad Mynach (YSM) and Rhymney (RHY):

Services will be cancelled in both directions between Ystrad Mynach (YSM) and Rhymney (RHY).

We expect the incident to last until 09:00 and disruption to services is expected until 10:00.

We have been made aware of a tree on the line at Hengoed.

For safety, train services are unable to run through the area.

Our colleagues at Amey Infrastructure are aware and staff are currently en route to the affected area.

We will publish more information here, once we have received an update from Network Rail.

Customers can use local bus services between Rhymney and Caerphilly to help you complete your journey, at no extra cost:

  • 26, 50, 51, 53, C9 Stagecoach services.

We apologise that our Pay As You Go cannot be used on local bus operators.

We advise passengers to tap out at the earliest opportunity.

We have road transport running between Ystrad Mynach and Rhymney provided by Teulu/Bluebirds, to help you complete your journey, at no extra cost.

Road Transport will take longer than rail services. Please allow extra time to complete your journey.

Update: Incident due to forecasted severe weather between Llandudno Junction (LLJ) and Blaenau Ffestiniog (BFF) until 07:15.

Due to forecasted severe weather between Llandudno Junction (LLJ) and Blaenau Ffestiniog (BFF):

Services will be cancelled in both directions between Llandudno Junction (LLJ) and Blaenau Ffestiniog (BFF).

We expect the incident to last until 07:15 and disruption to services is expected from 15:00 on 12/03/2026 until 07:15.

Following forecast severe weather, the line has reopened between Blaenau Ffestiniog and Llandudno Junction in both directions.


Our services between Llandudno Junction and Blaenau Ffestiniog will be cancelled until 07:15 on 13/03/26 and will be replaced by road transport in both directions.


Please be aware our services between Llandudno and Llandudno Junction remain unaffected by this incident.


Alternative Travel Options:

We have organised buses to run between Llandudno Junction and Blaenau Ffestiniog to assist customers to complete journeys where possible at no extra cost.


These will depart Llandudno Junction heading towards Blaenau Ffestiniog at approximately 05:21 provided by Llew Jones.


These will also depart Blaenau Ffestiniog heading towards Llandudno Junction at approximately 06:18 provided by Llew Jones


These arrangements are in place on services until approximately 07:15 on 13/03/26.


Road Transport will take longer than rail services. Please allow extra time to complete your journey.
