Network Rider - South East Wales

Getting around South East Wales by bus has never been easier. Hop on and off bus services provided by different operators with just one ticket: Network Rider. It's valid on nearly all bus services in South East Wales, including some that connect towns directly outside the region as well.

 

Where can you use a Network Rider ticket?

The ticket is valid on all routes provided by participating bus operators within the area outlined on the map, except for:

  • Special amenity services, including all football specials, night services between 02:00 and 05:00 when a premium fare is charged; dedicated park and ride services or sightseeing services where a premium fare is charged.
  • Express coach services, including those provided by National Express, Megabus, Flixbus and the TrawsCymru T1C.
  • X80 (entire route)
  • T6 (entire route)
  • Rail replacement services.
  • Rail linc 905 between Rhoose International Station and Cardiff Airport.
  • Any ‘closed’ school service not available to the general public.

 

Bus services operating in England

You can only use a Network Rider ticket on those services starting or finishing in Wales and operating direct to Hereford or Lydney.

 

TrawsCymru services

Network Rider tickets are available on sections of these routes:

  • T4 between Merthyr Tydfil and Llyswen
  • T7 local journeys within Chepstow only
  • Service X44 - excludes journeys via Whitney-on-Wye and Clyro
  • Service B49 between Hay-on-Wye and Brecon
  • Service X12 between Llyswen and Abergavenny

 

How to buy a Network Rider ticket

To buy a Network Rider ticket, you can pay the driver on your first bus. Cash or contactless payment is accepted on all buses. The ticket is not available for pre purchase online or through an app.

How long is the Network Rider ticket valid?

Network Rider Day tickets are valid for a whole day, up to and including the last bus. Weekly tickets are valid for 7 consecutive days (including the day of purchase).
