After all that history, time for an adrenaline buzz on the Gower Peninsula. At first look, this gorgeously peaceful Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty couldn’t be further from adrenaline if it tried. If you require some retail therapy after all that excitement, Swansea’s Oxford Street offers everything its more famous cousin does, but with a delightful Welsh spin. Designer stores and big name shops mingle with quaint independent boutiques showcasing interesting gifts, clothes and homewares. Swansea Market goes further, being the largest indoor market in Wales. Under its original curved glass and steel roof, there are over a hundred stalls displaying everything from studio glassware and handcrafted silver jewellery to deliciously morish delicacies to enjoy on your train ride home.
