Flint lies on the Wales Coastal Path, and is famous for its ancient castle. Built during King Edward I's campaign to conquer Wales in 1277, this dramatic ruin gazes out across the Dee Estuary, and is the perfect backdrop for an idyllic day out. For fans of the Bard, Flint Castle was the location of his play, Richard II, and is where Henry Bolingbroke imprisoned his cousin, Richard II. 

The town of Flint has plenty of good hostelries, quaint coffee shops and fine dining restaurants serving local delicacies. All the high street names are here, too, and recently the town, leisure centre and retail park have all expanded and been improved to cater for the tourists that visit throughout the year.
