Overview

The area of Llandudno has a long and impressive history, with relics being found from the Stone Age. The region's industry, too, has been established here for many centuries.

The station, built in 1858, served the copper mines that Llandudno is famous for. Responsible for keeping both the farming and fishing industries going, too, the station brought wealth and workers into the area. Gradually, though, tourism took over, and Llandudno became the glorious highly popular seaside attraction, with an expanded station to cope with the extra footfall.

Nowadays, the demand for trains has lessened slightly, and the platforms have decreased from 5 down to 3, but the gorgeously well preserved red brick station buildings remain. However, if you're looking for more than just observing red bricks for your next holiday in Llandudno, make sure to take a look at our guide on exciting things to do in Llandudno.
