Due to a shortage of trains, fewer trains are able to run between Cardiff Central and Cheltenham Spa.

18:45 Cardiff Central to Nottingham service between Cardiff Central and Cheltenham Spa, which will call additionally at Caldicot and Lydney.

20:15 Cheltenham Spa to Cardiff Central service between Cheltenham Spa and Cardiff Central, which will call additionally at Lydney.

Services will be delayed by up to 60 minutes.

Services may be cancelled in both directions between Wrexham Central (WXC) and Bidston (BID).

We expect the incident to last until 18:00 and disruption to services is expected from 16:30 until 20:00.

What's Happened?

We have been made aware of a vehicle colliding with a bridge over the railway at Shotton.

The bridge has been examined and trains will begin to run again, however some residual delays can be expected as the service recovers.

We apologise for the disruption caused to your journey.

Alternative Travel Options:

We have organised buses at Wrexham Central and Bidston to assist customers to complete journeys where possible at no extra cost. These will arrive at approximately 17:45 and are provided by Keanes Coaches.

These arrangements are in place until the end of the day.

Road Transport will take longer than rail services. Please allow extra time to complete your journey.
