Due to more trains than usual needing repairs at the same time between Shrewsbury (SHR) and Aberystwyth (AYW):
We expect the incident to last until 09:27 on 25/09/2026 and disruption to services is expected from 06:48 on 25/09/2026 until 10:30 on 25/09/2026.
We have been made aware of more trains than usual needing repairs at the same time, affecting the running of our services between Shrewsbury and Aberystwyth on Friday 25th September 2026.
As a result, the following services have been cancelled:
- 06:48 Welshpool to Aberystwyth
- 08:27 Aberystwyth to Shrewsbury
Our services between Shrewsbury and Aberystwyth are disrupted in both directions.
We expect the incident to be cleared by 09:27. Train services may be disrupted until 10:30.
Alternative Travel Options:
We have organised buses to run between Welshpool and Aberystwyth, and Aberystwyth and Shrewsbury to assist customers to complete journeys where possible at no extra cost. These will arrive at:
- Welshpool at approximately 06:48 provided by Lloyds, calling all stops to Aberystwyth.
- Aberystwyth at approximately 08:27 provided by Lloyds, calling all stops to Shrewsbury.
These arrangements are in place on services until 10:30.
Road Transport will take longer than rail services. Please allow extra time to complete your journey.
