Due to urgent repairs to the track at Caldicot (CDT):
Services may be delayed by up to 60 minutes.
Services will be cancelled in both directions between Cardiff Central (CDF) and Cheltenham Spa (CNM).
We expect the incident to last until the end of the day and disruption to services is expected from 19:23 until the end of the day.
What's Happened?
We have been made aware of a broken rail at Caldicot between Newport and Gloucester.
For safety, train services will not be able to run through the area until it has been fixed.
Our colleagues at Network Rail/Amey Infrastructure are aware of the problem and technicians are currently in the area to fix the affected area of track.
We will publish more information here, once we have received an update from the infrastructure technicians.

Alternative Travel Options
Your ticket can be used on the following alternative routes to help you complete your journey, with the Train Operating Companies listed below at no extra cost:
- CrossCountry between Cardiff Central and Cheltenham Spa
- GWR between Cardiff Central and Bristol Parkway
These arrangements are in place on services until end of service.
If you decide to travel from a different station due to this disruption and need to return to that station later, you will also be able to use your existing ticket to do this at no extra cost.
Alternative Travel Options
You can use the following local bus services to help you complete your journey, at no extra cost:
- Route 73 and X74 provided by Newport Bus between Newport and Chepstow.
