Due to a tree blocking the railway between Machynlleth (MCN) and Aberystwyth (AYW):
Services will be cancelled in both directions between Machynlleth (MCN) and Aberystwyth (AYW).
We expect the incident to last until 15:30 and disruption to services is expected from 14:00 until 15:30.
What's Happened?
A train has struck a tree overhanging the track in the Welshpool area. As a result the following services have been cancelled:
14:49 Machynlleth to Aberystwyth
15:27 Aberystwyth to Machynlleth
Alternative Travel Options:
We have organised buses to run between Machynlleth and Aberystwyth to assist customers to complete journeys where possible at no extra cost. These will depart Aberystwyth at 15:27, and wait for the arrival of the damaged train before departing Machynlleth at approximately 15:15. These buses are provided by Lloyds Coaches
Road Transport will take longer than rail services. Please allow extra time to complete your journey.
