About Holyhead railway station

The Welsh town of Holyhead is located on the beautiful island of Anglesey. It’s served by Holyhead station on the North Wales Coast Line. Carrying almost a quarter of a million passengers to and from the mainland annually, the original station opened in 1848 but was replaced after only three years. The present station was built in 1866 but remnants of the original construction remain, including the roof. Three of the four platforms are still in use.
