Overview

Opened in 1878, and constructed for the Cardiff, Penarth, and Barry Junction Railway, Penarth station handles more than half a million passengers every year. Serving the town of Penarth, four miles south of Cardiff, the station was rebuilt in 1984, with many of the original buildings being replaced, and the nearby Railway Hotel foregoing the accommodation and becoming one of the town’s most popular pubs.
