Things to do
- Standing tall on the site of the former Six Bells Colliery, the Guardian statue is a memorial to those who lost their lives in the Six Bells Colliery disaster in 1960. This is a must see if you’re in the area to get a sense the importance of mining to this part of Wales and how it’s shaped the landscape.
- Catch a film at one of Wales’s oldest cinemas - Market Hall cinema in Brynmawr town square is the longest continually running cinema in Wales and is still going strong today.
- Visit the Owl Sanctuary at the site of the former Festival Park shopping centre.
