Due to a fire on property near the railway between Shrewsbury (SHR) and Hereford (HFD):

Services may be delayed by up to 90 minutes.

Services may be cancelled in both directions between Shrewsbury (SHR) and Hereford (HFD).

We expect the incident to last until 19:30 and disruption to services is expected from 17:06 until 20:30.

Fire services are on site dealing with a fir near railway property, blocking the lines between Hereford to Shrewsbury.

You can use the following local bus services to help you complete your journey, at no extra cost:

Route 21 and X3 provided by Stagecoach South Wales between Pontypool and Cwmbran.
Route 23 provided by Stagecoach South Wales between Cwmbran and Hereford via Abergavenny.

We have organised buses to run between Church Stretton and Herefoed to assist customers to complete journeys where possible at no extra cost. These will arrive at approximately 18:40 provided by Five Star and Lakeside Coaches. An additional bus will arrive at Church Stretton at approximately 19:30 provided by Keanes Coaches.

These arrangements are in place on services until 20:00.

Road Transport will take longer than rail services. Please allow extra time to complete your journey.

We expect to have a reduced number of trains available on Thursday 16th July whilst our depot teams work to ensure our on board air conditioning is fully functional.

This means Transport For Wales services will start and terminate at Wolverhampton instead of Birmingham New Street or Birmingham International today.

Rail services between Wolverhampton and Shrewsbury are expected to be busy meaning conditions on board could be very warm. Customers who are feeling unwell should consider whether they need to travel. If you do travel, you should bring water, stay hydrated and speak to a member of the onboard team immediately if you begin to feel unwell.

Alternative Travel Options:

Your ticket can be used on the following alternative routes to help you complete your journey, with the Train Operating Companies listed below at no extra cost:

This means a reduced number of services are able to run between Wrexham General and Chester in both directions.
