Due to more trains than usual needing repairs at the same time between Chester (CTR) and Wrexham General (WRX):

Services will be cancelled in both directions between Chester (CTR) and Wrexham General (WRX).

We expect the incident to last until 19:00 and disruption to services is expected until 19:00.

What's Happened?

Due to a shortage of trains, fewer trains are able to run between Wrexham General and Chester.

Our services between Wrexham General and Chester are disrupted in both directions.

We apologise for the disruption caused to your journey.

Alternative Travel Options

You can use the following local bus services to help you complete your journey, at no extra cost:

Route 1 provided by Arriva Bus Wales between Chester and Wrexham.

Find details of these services using the journey planner at www.traveline.cymru.

We have organised buses to run between x and x to assist customers to complete journeys where possible at no extra cost. These will arrive at Wrexham General at approximately 12:00 provided by Keans Coaches and will arrive at Chester at approximately 13:00 provided by Keans Coaches. This replacement road transport will shuttle between Wrexham General and Chester,

These arrangements are in place on services until 19:00

Road Transport will take longer than rail services. Please allow extra time to complete your journey.

Services may be cancelled in both directions between Carmarthen (CMN) and Pembroke Dock (PMD).

We expect the incident to last until 18:00 and disruption to services is expected from 11:30 until 18:00.

Due to a shortage of train crew, fewer trains are able to run between Carmarthen and Pembroke Dock between 11:30 and 18:00.

Our services between Carmarthen and Pembroke Dock are disrupted in both directions.

We expect the incident to be cleared by 18:00. Train services will be disrupted until 18:00.

Alternative Travel Options:

We have organised buses to run between Swansea/Carmarthen and Pembroke Dock and to assist customers to complete journeys where possible at no extra cost. These will arrive at approximately:

Swansea/Carmarthen to Pembroke Dock

11:45 Carmarthen calling all stops to Pembroke Dock, provided by Coracle.
14:00 Carmarthen calling all stops to Pembroke Dock, provided by Davies and Glyns.
14:58 Swansea calling all stops to Carmarthen. This service will then set down customers as required to Pembroke Dock.

Pembroke Dock to Carmarthen/Swansea

14:07 Pembroke Dock calling all stops to Swansea, provided by Coracle.
16:07 Pembroke Dock calling all stops to Swansea, provided by Davies and Glyns.
18:16 Pembroke Dock calling all stops to Swansea, provided by Cymru and Davies.

Due to checking reports of an obstruction on the line between Cardiff Central (CDF) and Heath High Level (HHL):

Services will be delayed by up to 15 minutes.

Services will be cancelled in both directions between Cardiff Queen Street (CDQ) and Caerphilly (CPH).

We expect the incident to last until further notice and disruption to services is expected from 13:00 until 16:00.

Travel by air

Our trains can take you to Cardiff, Birmingham, Liverpool, and Manchester airports. Take the stress out of getting to the airport - do it by train.

Please plan your journey to any of our Wales airports so you allow at least two hours plus check-in time from when your train arrives at the airport until the departure time of your flight.

Cardiff Airport

Integrated bus and train tickets are now available to Cardiff International Airport. With one ticket you can catch one of our trains to Rhoose (International Airport) and then connect onto the Adventure travel 905 bus to the airport. Total journey time from Cardiff Central is 48 minutes.

Trains run from Bridgend directly to Rhoose Cardiff International Airport every hour (every two hours on Sunday).

If you’re taking the train to Cardiff Airport from a location west of Bridgend, there’s no need to change at Cardiff Central. Get off at Bridgend and board a direct train for Rhoose. Ask one of our colleagues if you’re not sure. You can check train times on our app or website.

Birmingham International Airport

Trains run directly from Aberystwyth, Pwllheli and Shrewsbury to Birmingham International.

There are up to nine trains an hour between Birmingham New Street and Birmingham International.

From the station, you can get the free monorail to the airport, and it only takes two minutes. The monorail runs between 03:30 and 00:30 hours, and outside of that, the airport is only a 10-minute walk from the station.

Manchester Airport

Trains run from North Wales and Chester direct to Manchester Airport in the morning and evening.

We run regular trains to Manchester Piccadilly and from there you can get connecting services from other operators. There are up to six trains an hour between Manchester Piccadilly and Manchester Airport.

Liverpool Airport

Trains run every hour from Chester, Liverpool South Parkway and Liverpool Lime Street to Liverpool John Lennon Airport.

From the train station you can travel to the airport by bus on the 80A and 86A which run every 20 minutes. Integrated rail/bus tickets are available for this journey.
