Update: Incident due to more trains than usual needing repairs at the same time between Cardiff Central (CDF) and Cheltenham Spa (CNM) until the end of the day.

Due to more trains than usual needing repairs at the same time between Cardiff Central (CDF) and Cheltenham Spa (CNM):

Services will be cancelled in both directions between Cardiff Central (CDF) and Cheltenham Spa (CNM).

We expect the incident to last until the end of the day and disruption to services is expected from 08:10 on 29/06/2026 until the end of the day.

We have organised buses to run between Cardiff Central and Cheltenham Spa to assist customers to complete journeys where possible at no extra cost. The following rail replacement services have been arranged:

06:10 Newport all stops to Cheltenham Spa provided by Jenson

09:10 Newport all stops to Cheltenham Spa provided Ferris and Watts

10:40 Cheltenham Spa all stops to Newport provided by Jenson

12:10 Newport all stops to Cheltenham Spa provided by Watts

13:40 Cheltenham Spa all stops to Newport provided by Ferris

16:40 Cheltenham Spa all stops to Newport provided by Watts

18:10 Newport all stops to Cheltenham Spa provided by Ferris

21:09 Newport all stops to Cheltenham Spa 2 provided by Jarvis

22:58 Cheltenham Spa all stops to Cardiff Central provided by Jarvis

These arrangements are in place on services until the end of the day.

Road Transport will take longer than rail services. Please allow extra time to complete your journey.

We apologise for the disruption caused to your journey.

Alternative Travel Options

Your ticket can be used on the following alternative routes to help you complete your journey, with the Train Operating Companies listed below at no extra cost:

  • CrossCountry between Cardiff Central and Cheltenham Spa

These arrangements are in place on services until 20:00.

If you decide to travel from a different station due to this disruption and need to return to that station later, you will also be able to use your existing ticket to do this at no extra cost.

Alternative Travel Options

Your ticket can be used on the following alternative routes to help you complete your journey, with the Train Operating Companies listed below at no extra cost:

Due to more trains than usual needing repairs at the same time between Newport (South Wales) (NWP) and Ebbw Vale Town (EBB):

Services will be cancelled in both directions between Newport (South Wales) (NWP) and Ebbw Vale Town (EBB).

We expect the incident to last until the end of the day and disruption to services is expected from 05:00 on 29/06/2026 until the end of the day.

What's Happened?

Due to more trains than usual needing repairs at the same time, services between Newport and Ebbw Vale Town will be cancelled. We expect the incident to last until the end of the day.

Please note that services between Ebbw Vale Town and Maesteg are not affected.

  • Route 56 provided by Stagecoach South Wales between Newport and Crosskeys via Rogerstone and Ponytmister.
  • Route X15 provided by Stagecoach South Wales between Newport and Llanhilleth via Rogerstone, Crosskeys and Newbridge.
  • Route 151 provided by Stagecoach South Wales between Newport and Newbridge via Pye Corner, Rogerstone, Pontymister, Risca and Crosskeys.
