First Class

Our seasonal menus use the finest local ingredients. We like to keep them as fresh as the food we serve and our talented chefs are constantly innovating to bring you delicious new combinations. Take a look at what you can expect when you're travelling with us.

Stock availability can sometimes affect what food and drink we can serve on our trains. Your host will let you know if something is unavailable and see if you’d like an alternative.

 

To start

Handmade tomato and basil soup

We serve this with warm crusty bread and Welsh butter. Delicious.


Classic Welsh rarebit with a twist

Melted Cheddar and bacon on toast, served with a crisp dressed tomato and red onion salad.


Potato and leek samosa (VG)

It’s lightly curried and served with an Indian dressing and sprig of coriander for extra flavour.


 

Your main course

Slow-cooked Welsh lamb shank

Served with a mint jus, chive pom purée mash and green beans infused with garlic.


Pan-fried seabass (GF)

We drizzle it with lemon oil and accompany it with peppered leeks and sautéed new potatoes.


Butternut Squash Wellington (VG)

A vegan classic, served with chive pom purée mash, mint jus and green beans with garlic.


 

For dessert

Zesty lemon tart (VG)

A silky lemon filling encased in crisp pastry, served with a fresh raspberry coulis.


Sticky toffee pudding

Our warm sticky toffee pudding served with a toffee sauce and clotted cream. Yummy.


A selection of Welsh cheeses

Our selection of classic Welsh cheeses, served with oatcakes and an ale chutney.
