Due to a speed restriction over defective track between Barmouth (BRM) and Tywyn (TYW):
Services may be delayed by up to 60 minutes.
Services may be cancelled in both directions between Machynlleth (MCN) and Pwllheli (PWL).
We expect the incident to last until 18:30 and disruption to services is expected until 19:30.
What's Happened?
We have been made aware of track defect between Harlech and Barmouth.
For safety, train services will not be able to run through the area until it has been fixed.
Our colleagues at Network Rail are aware of the problem and technicians are currently en route to the affected area of track.
We will publish more information here, once we have received an update from the infrastructure technicians.

Alternative Travel Options
You can use the following local bus services to help you complete your journey, at no extra cost:
- Route G21 and G24 provided by Lloyds Coaches between Machynlleth and Tywyn.
- Route T2 and T3 provided by Lloyds Coaches between Machynlleth and Barmouth/Porthmadog via Dolgellau (Please note: Dolgellau is a local bus connection point and not a Railway Station)
- Route G23 provided by Lloyds Coaches between Barmouth and Porthmadog.
- Route 3 provided by Caelloi between Porthmadog and Pwllheli.

We have organised buses to run between Barmouth and Machynlleth to assist customers to complete journeys where possible at no extra cost. These will arrive Barmouth at approximately 17:45 provided by Lloyds Coaches.

These arrangements are in place on services until 23:59.
Road Transport will take longer than rail services. Please allow extra time to complete your journey.
