Over the past months, our first three Regional Forums took place along with our inaugural Advisory Panel, all of which took place electronically over Microsoft Teams.
The forums were led by our Stakeholder Managers for each area – Lowri Joyce for North Wales, Nichole Sarra for Wales and the Borders and Katie Powis for Mid and West Wales. The Advisory Panel was arranged by Gethin Jones, the Business Support Manager at TfW.
The forums are part of our Advisory Architecture and have been set up to help us gather information and input from businesses, organisations, user groups and individuals on how their regions are engaging with the railway network. They’re a great platform for us to discuss potential economic development and marketing opportunities in their regions, along with service improvement plans and opportunities to work collaboratively with communities.
Our Business Support Manager, Gethin Jones, said “All three forums received fantastic feedback in the manner they were facilitated and chaired, and the content of discussion was rich and varied. The forums have helped give us a better understanding of what communities across our network need, and we’re looking forward to future forums to help build on this.”
In regard to the Advisory Panel, he said, “The way we were able to react quickly and facilitate the Forums and Panel over Teams is a great example of how quickly we can respond as an organisation to unprecedented business needs. It’s great that the forums helped build confidence in our stakeholders that regardless of what challenges present themselves, their input and views are an important part of our work programme.”
