Due to a fault with the signalling system between Shrewsbury (SHR) and Crewe (CRE):

We have been made aware of a fault with the signalling system between Shrewsbury and Crewe.
Until the signalling system is working normally, trains will not run through the area.
Our services between Shrewsbury and Crewe are disrupted in both directions.
We expect the incident to be cleared by 23:59. Train services may be cancelled or delayed in the area until approximately 23:59.
Alternative Travel Options:
Your ticket can be used on the following alternative routes to help you complete your journey, with the Train Operating Companies listed below at no extra cost:
- Between Shrewsbury and Chester in both directions with Transport for Wales until 23:59.
- Between Crewe and Chester/Manchester Piccadilly in both directions with Avanti West Coast until 23:59.
- Between Crewe/Chester and Manchester Piccadilly in both directions with Northern until 23:59.
These arrangements are in place on services until 23:59.
If you decide to travel from a different station due to this disruption and need to return to that station later, you will also be able to use your existing ticket to do this at no extra cost.
Alternative Travel Options:
We have organised buses to run between Shrewsbury and Crewe via Yorton, Wem, Prees, Whitchurch (Shropshire), Wrenbury and Nantwich to assist customers to complete journeys where possible at no extra cost. These will arrive at:
- Shrewsbury at approximately 21:30 provided by Eminence Travel.
- Crewe at approximately 21:30 provided by Eminence Travel.
These arrangements are in place on services until 23:00.
Road Transport will take longer than rail services. Please allow extra time to complete your journey.
