  • Overview
    • Originally built as two stations, both opening in 1840, the two were amalgamated eight years later to serve the city of Chester and the surrounding areas. Constructed from the iconic rich blue Staffordshire stone and warm grey Storeton sandstone, and designed in an ornate style modelled on Italian classical architecture, Chester station is situated adjacent to the impressive city walls.

Popular with shopaholics, Brook Street lies right on the station’s doorstep, and just beyond that, the city centre, overlooked by the magnificent cathedral.
