Helping to transform Wales

Our five-year remit letter from the Welsh Government sets out the priorities we’re remitted to deliver over the term of Welsh Government. This is aligned with: 

• The Programme for Government which sets out the Welsh Government’s objectives for the 2021-26 Welsh parliament. 
• Llwybr Newydd: the Wales transport strategy 2021 which sets out a vision for how our transport network can help us deliver the Welsh Government’s priorities to create a more prosperous, green, and equal society over the next 20 years.
• The seven well-being goals and five ways of working set out in the Well-being of Future Generations (Wales) Act 2015.

We’re helping transform Wales into a public transport first nation by providing: 

• increased opportunity to make sustainable travel choices
• the motivation to make a modal shift away from private car use
• the capability to influence behaviour change with support and removal of barriers to drive the use of sustainable travel.

We’re making travelling by public transport easier and more accessible for everyone across Wales and the borders. By building more capability and reliability into our network and operations, we want to make public transport an attractive travel option. That’s what will create a more sustainable Wales.
