Due to a fault with the signalling system between Wrexham General (WRX) and Chester (CTR):
Services will be delayed by up to 60 minutes.
Services will be cancelled in both directions between Wrexham General (WRX) and Chester (CTR).
We expect the incident to last until 18:00 and disruption to services is expected from 04:00 until the end of the day.
Train services will not be able to run through the area and will be diverting via Crewe until the signalling system is working normally.
Our colleagues at Network Rail are aware of the problem and technicians are currently en route to the affected area. We will publish more information here, once we have received an update from the infrastructure technicians.
Alternative Travel Options:
We have organised a limited rail replacement service to run between Chester and Wrexham General, and Shrewsbury and Wrexham General to assist customers to complete journeys where possible at no extra cost. These are provided by Lakeside Coaches, Keanes Coaches, and Northwich Travel.
These arrangements are in place until the end of the day.
Road Transport will take longer than rail services. Please allow extra time to complete your journey.
