Update: Incident due to a fault with the signalling system between Wrexham General (WRX) and Chester (CTR) until 18:00.

Due to a fault with the signalling system between Wrexham General (WRX) and Chester (CTR):

Services will be delayed by up to 60 minutes.

Services will be cancelled in both directions between Wrexham General (WRX) and Chester (CTR).

We expect the incident to last until 18:00 and disruption to services is expected from 04:00 until the end of the day.

Train services will not be able to run through the area and will be diverting via Crewe until the signalling system is working normally.

Our colleagues at Network Rail are aware of the problem and technicians are currently en route to the affected area. We will publish more information here, once we have received an update from the infrastructure technicians.

Alternative Travel Options:

We have organised a limited rail replacement service to run between Chester and Wrexham General, and Shrewsbury and Wrexham General to assist customers to complete journeys where possible at no extra cost. These are provided by Lakeside Coaches, Keanes Coaches, and Northwich Travel.

These arrangements are in place until the end of the day.

Road Transport will take longer than rail services. Please allow extra time to complete your journey.

For helpful advice if you need to travel on a rail replacement service, including accessibility and bicycle information, please visit National Rail’s https://www.nationalrail.co.uk/travel-information/rail-replacement-services/

Calling points for road transport may be found on station information posters and https://tfw.wales/places/stations

If one of our trains is delayed or cancelled and you arrive at your destination station more than 15 minutes later than scheduled, you can claim compensation through 'Delay Repay'. Delay Repay | TfW

Please check back shortly. We apologise for the disruption caused to your journey.

Update: Incident due to lightning damaging the signalling system at Clarbeston Road (CLR) until the end of the day.

Due to lightning damaging the signalling system at Clarbeston Road (CLR):

Services will be cancelled at Carmarthen (CMN).

We expect the incident to last until the end of the day and disruption to services is expected from 04:30 until the end of the day.

For safety, train services will not be able to run between Carmarthen and Fishguard Harbour or Milford Haven until the signalling system is working normally.

We have received an update from the infrastructure technician and the issue is not resolvable before the end of service today.

Alternative Travel Options:

We have organised buses to run between Carmarthen and Fishguard Harbour and Milford Haven to assist customers to complete journeys where possible at no extra cost. These will be departing as close to train times as possible, but some delays are to be expected. These are provided by Evans Coaches, Davies Coaches, 2Impress Travel, EasyBus, Glyns minibus, Francis mini Travel, and Cymru Coaches
