Update: Incident due to damage to the overhead electric wires between Manchester Piccadilly (MAN) and Wilmslow (WML) until 10:50 on 19/04/2026.

Due to damage to the overhead electric wires between Manchester Piccadilly (MAN) and Wilmslow (WML):

Services will be cancelled in both directions between Manchester Piccadilly (MAN) and Wilmslow (WML).

We expect the incident to last until 10:50 on 19/04/2026 and disruption to services is expected from 23:30 on 18/04/2026 until 10:50 on 19/04/2026.

In order to repair earlier damage to the overhead electric wires at Manchester Piccadilly, for safety, services in the area are subject to disruption and will be cancelled or revised.

Alternative Travel Options:


We have organised buses to run between Wilmslow and Manchester Piccadilly to assist customers to complete journeys where possible at no extra cost. They will depart at the following times on Sunday 19/04:


  • 09:00 Wilmslow to Manchester Piccadilly
  • 09:30 Manchester Piccadilly to Wilmslow
  • 10:00 Wilmslow to Manchester Piccadilly
  • 10:30 Manchester Piccadilly to Wilmslow


These arrangements are in place on services until 10:50.


Road Transport will take longer than rail services. Please allow extra time to complete your journey.
