Update: Incident due to damage to the overhead electric wires at Manchester Piccadilly (MAN) until the end of the day.

Due to damage to the overhead electric wires at Manchester Piccadilly (MAN):

Services may be delayed by up to 30 minutes.

Services may be cancelled in the Manchester Piccadilly area.

We expect the incident to last until the end of the day and disruption to services is expected from 11:30 on 16/04/2026 until the end of the day.

Following a problem with the overhead electric wires at Manchester Piccadilly yesterday, services in the area are subject to disruption and maybe cancelled or revised.

All services between Wilmslow and Manchester Piccadilly are cancelled for the rest of the day.

We expect disruption to last until the end of today.

Please continue to travel as planned, but expect potential delays and cancellations on your journey.

Alternative Travel Options:

We have organised buses to run between Wilmslow and Manchester Airport via Stockport and Manchester Piccadilly in to assist customers to complete journeys where possible at no extra cost.

These arrangements are in place on services until the end of the day provided by Keanes Coaches and Mario's.

Road Transport will take longer than rail services. Please allow extra time to complete your journey.

Northern between Manchester Oxford Road/Crewe and Manchester Airport
TransPennine Express between Stockport and Manchester Piccadilly
Metrolink between Manchester Oxford Road and Manchester Piccadilly

These arrangements are in place on services until the end of the day.

If you decide to travel from a different station due to this disruption and need to return to that station later, you will also be able to use your existing ticket to do this at no extra cost.

If you intended to travel between Cardiff Central and Manchester Piccadilly yesterday and choose not to travel, you may use your ticket today at no extra cost.

Thank you for your Freedom of Information (FOI) Act request of 17 September 2019. You requested the following information:
1. How many miles of road under your jurisdiction currently have double red lines/are classified as red routes?

2. How many miles of road under your jurisdiction had double red lines/been classified as red routes in September 2018, September 2017, September 2016, and September 2015?

3. Do you currently have any plans to increase or decrease the number of double red lines on your roads in the foreseeable future? If so, please provide details.

4. What penalties do you issue to people who break red route rules?

5. How many penalties have you issued to people breaking red route rules over the last five years? Please provide a year-by-year breakdown.

I can confirm that we do not hold the information requested. Transport for Wales does not have remit for either trunk roads or local road networks.
