Services will be cancelled from Aberystwyth (AYW) towards Shrewsbury (SHR).
We expect the incident to last until 12:00 on 24/06/2026 and disruption to services is expected from 02:14 until 12:00 on 24/06/2026.
What's Happened?
Due to a shortage of trains caused by extreme heat, fewer services than normal will be able to run between Aberystwyth and Shrewsbury as well as between Machynlleth and Pwllheli

We have organised buses to run between Aberystwyth and Shrewsbury in both directions to assist customers to complete journeys where possible at no extra cost.

Aberystwyth in the direction of Shrewsbury at approximately 06:17

Barmouth in the direction of Pwllheli at approximately 07:47
Pwllheli in the direction of Machynlleth at approximately 09:34
Barmouth in the direction of Machynlleth at approximately 10:59
Machynlleth in the direction of Aberystwyth at approximately 08:48
Aberystwyth in the direction of Shrewsbury at approximately 09:27
