Update: Incident due to a points failure between Crewe (CRE) and Manchester Piccadilly (MAN) until 18:00.

Due to a points failure between Crewe (CRE) and Manchester Piccadilly (MAN):

Services will be delayed by up to 60 minutes.

Services will be cancelled in both directions between Crewe (CRE) and Manchester Piccadilly (MAN).

We expect the incident to last until 18:00 and disruption to services is expected until 19:30.

What's Happened?

We have been made aware of a points failure at Crewe.

For safety, train services will be running more slowly than normal through the area, with residual delays of around 30 minutes to be expected.

Our colleagues at Network Rail/Amey Infrastructure are aware of the problem and technicians are currently en route to the affected area/points.

We will publish more information here, once we have received an update from the infrastructure technicians.

Due to forecasted severe weather between Pontypridd (PPD) and Cardiff Bay (CDB):

Services will be cancelled in the Pontypridd to Cardiff Bay area.

We expect the incident to last until 23:59 on 27/06/2026 and disruption to services is expected from 06:00 on 25/06/2026 until 23:59 on 27/06/2026.

What's Happened?

Hot weather has been forecast Meaning train journeys may be subject to change. Please check before you travel.

Services from Pontypridd directly to Cardiff Bay will be Cancelled. Please use an alternative train service and change at Cardiff Queen Street for a service to Cardiff Bay.
