Due to a fault with the signalling system between Newport (South Wales) (NWP) and Chepstow (CPW):
Services may be delayed by up to 60 minutes.
We expect the incident to last until 12:00 and disruption to services is expected until 14:00.
What's Happened?
We have been made aware of a signalling problem between Newport and Chepstow.
For safety, train services will be running more slowly than normal through the area, with residual delays of around 30 minutes to be expected.
Our colleagues at Network Rail are aware of the problem and Technicians are currently en route to the affected area.
We will publish more information here, once we have received an update from the infrastructure technicians.
Alternative Travel Options:
Your ticket can be used on the following alternative routes to help you complete your journey, with the Train Operating Companies listed below at no extra cost:
- Cheltenham Spa to Cardiff Central in both directions with CrossCountry until 16:00
These arrangements are in place on services until 16:00.
If you decide to travel from a different station due to this disruption and need to return to that station later, you will also be able to use your existing ticket to do this at no extra cost.
