Due to more trains than usual needing repairs at the same time between Newport (South Wales) (NWP) and Ebbw Vale Town (EBB):

Services will be cancelled in both directions between Newport (South Wales) (NWP) and Ebbw Vale Town (EBB).

We expect the incident to last until the end of the day and disruption to services is expected from 06:48 until the end of the day.

We have been made aware of more trains than usual needing repairs at the same time, affecting services between Newport (South Wales) and Ebbw Vale Town.

As a result, our services between Newport (South Wales) and Ebbw Vale Town will be cancelled until end of service today.

Our services between Newport (South Wales) and Ebbw Vale Town are disrupted in both directions.

We expect the incident to be cleared by 23:59. Train services may be disrupted until 23:59.

Please note that our direct services between Cardiff Central and Ebbw Vale Town are unaffected by this incident.

Customers at Newport (South Wales) requiring stations towards Ebbw Vale Town are advised to travel on Transport for Wales services towards Cardiff Central and change for connecting services towards Ebbw Vale Town.

Customers at stations between Ebbw Vale Town and Pye Corner are advised to travel to Cardiff Central and change for connecting Transport for Wales services towards Newport (South Wales).

Customers can use local bus services to complete journeys where possible at no extra cost:

Route 21 provided by Stagecoach South Wales between Newbridge and Llanhilleth.
Route 26 provided by Stagecoach South Wales between Newbridge and Ebbw Vale.
Route 56 provided by Stagecoach South Wales between Newport and Crosskeys via Rogerstone and Pontymister.
Route 151 provided by Stagecoach South Wales between Newport and Newbridge via Pye Corner, Rogerstone, Pontymister, Risca and Crosskeys.
Route X15 provided by Stagecoach South Wales between Newport and Llanhilleth via Rogerstone, Crosskeys and Newbridge.

WIN a trip for two to the Wales Airshow, Swansea on the 6 July including return train tickets by Transport for Wales (TfW), entry to the exclusive Wales Airshow Flight Deck area with prime viewing, bed and breakfast at the Village Hotel Swansea, together with a £50 meal voucher for the hotel Pub & Gril. All you need to do to enter is follow TfW, Village Hotel Club Swansea, Wales Airshow and Visit Swansea on social media.

Terms and conditions

Prize is not transferable and there is no cash alternative.
Entry into the Flight Deck Area at the Wales Airshow is for two people and does not include food & drink.
The night’s stay is for the Sunday 6 July 2025 only for a room for two people at the Village Hotel Swansea. The £50 voucher is for food only at the Pub & Grill at the Village Hotel Swansea and can’t be used on drinks.
Train tickets are valid for Transport for Wales train services only.
To enter you must follow TfW, Village Hotel Club Swansea, Wales Airshow and Visit Swansea.
Prize does not include return transport to and from train stations and to the Village Hotel Swansea or from the hotel to the airshow.
Entrants must be aged 18 years or over.
Employees and their immediate families of the Culture, Tourism, Sport and Leisure Service, City and Council of Swansea or any of the competition partners are not eligible to enter this competition.
Closing date is 12:00 on 03 July 2025.
The winners will be announced on 03 July 2025 and contacted directly.
The winning entries will be chosen at random from all correct entries received.
