Bus franchising is being rolled out across Wales. It means bus operators can bid for contracts to operate services to specifications set by the Welsh Government and Transport for Wales. These are significant changes to how bus services are planned, procured and managed. You can find out more on bus franchising here.

Are you a bus operator?

We’ve created a Dynamic Market, a public sector procurement framework that can adapt as franchising evolves. It’s a flexible way for bus operators to apply for contracts of different sizes, locations and requirements in an open and competitive marketplace.

You can apply to join the Dynamic Market at any time provided you meet the required conditions. Joining does not guarantee you’ll be awarded a contract, but you’ll have the opportunity to apply as soon as they arise.

We want to operate a fair, transparent and accessible procurement environment that’s easy to use for bus operators and supports the delivery of high-quality bus services across Wales.
