Update: Incident due to lightning damaging the signalling system at Clarbeston Road (CLR) until 19:00.

Due to lightning damaging the signalling system at Clarbeston Road (CLR):

Services may be delayed by up to 45 minutes.

Services may be cancelled at Carmarthen (CMN).

We expect the incident to last until 19:00 and disruption to services is expected from 14:15 until 20:00.

Following a lightning strike, we have been made aware of a signalling problem at Clarbeston Road

As a result, train services will not be able to run through the area until the signalling system is working normally.

Our colleagues at Network Rail are aware of the problem and technicians are currently en route to the affected area/signalling.

We are currently sourcing replacement road transport for services between Carmarthen and Fishguard Harbor/Milford Haven. Please note, our Carmarthen to Pembroke Dock services currently remain unaffected.

Alternative Travel Options:

We have organised buses to run between Carmarthen, Milford Haven, and Fishguard Harbor to assist customers to complete journeys where possible at no extra cost. Rail replacement has been organised as follows:

15:45 Carmarthen all stops to Milford Haven – Provided by Davies and Glyns

16:33 Carmarthen all stops to Milford Haven – Operator to be confirmed

18:00 Carmarthen all stops to Milford Haven- Operator to be confirmed

15:06 Milford Haven all stops to Carmarthen – Provided by Evans

16:55 Milford Haven all stops to Carmarthen – Provided by Evans

17:58 Milford Haven all stops to Carmarthen – Provided by Evans

19:01 Milford Haven all stops to Carmarthen – Provided by Evans

14:36 Carmarthen all stops to Fishguard Harbor - Provided by Davies and Easybus – Please note this rail replacement will be running approximately 35 minutes late

New: Incident due to a fault on a train at Gowerton (GWN) until 20:00.

Due to a fault on a train at Gowerton (GWN):

Services will be cancelled at Gowerton (GWN).

We expect the incident to last until 20:00 and disruption to services is expected from 12:00 until 20:00.

Due to heat related train faults, services running from Llanelli headed towards Swansea will not call at Gowerton station until later this evening.

Our services from Llanelli heading towards Swansea are disrupted. Please note, services travelling from Swansea heading towards Carmarthen currently remain unaffected. We expect the incident to be cleared by approximately 20:00.

Alternative Travel Options:

We have organised buses to run between Llanelli and Swansea to assist customers to complete journeys where possible at no extra cost. These will arrive at Llanelli and Gowerton at approximately 12:30, provided by Cymru.

Customers wishing to alight services at Gowerton are advised to travel to Llanelli and catch rail replacement from Llanelli to Gowerton. These buses will depart every XX:00 and XX:30.

Customers at Gowerton wishing to travel to Swansea are advised to catch rail replacement service to Swansea. These will depart Gowerton every XX:15 and XX:30.

These arrangements are in place on services until 20:00.

Road Transport will take longer than rail services. Please allow extra time to complete your journey.

Update: Incident due to more trains than usual needing repairs at the same time between Newport (South Wales) (NWP) and Ebbw Vale Town (EBB) until 21:00.

Due to more trains than usual needing repairs at the same time between Newport (South Wales) (NWP) and Ebbw Vale Town (EBB):

Services will be cancelled in both directions between Newport (South Wales) (NWP) and Ebbw Vale Town (EBB).

We expect the incident to last until 21:00 and disruption to services is expected from 06:00 until 21:00.

Due to more trains than usual needing repairs at the same time, there will be a reduced service between Newport and Ebbw Vale Town.

A reduced service will be in place until 21:00.

Customers are advised to travel on the next available service. Alternatively, customers can travel on the next available TfW service to Cardiff Central to connect with our Cardiff to Ebbw Vale services. We apologise for the disruption to your journey.

Alternative Travel Options:

You can use the following local bus services to help you complete your journey, at no extra cost:

  • Route 56 provided by Stagecoach South Wales between Newport and Crosskeys via Rogerstone and Ponytmister.
  • Route X15 provided by Stagecoach South Wales between Newport and Llanhilleth via Rogerstone, Crosskeys and Newbridge.
  • Route 151 provided by Stagecoach South Wales between Newport and Newbridge via Pye Corner, Rogerstone, Pontymister, Risca and Crosskeys.
  • Route 1 provided by Newport Bus between Newport and Rogerstone via Pye Corner.
