Overview
Serving the village of Borth near Aberystwyth, Borth station was first opened in the summer of 1863, bringing tourists to see the sea, many experiencing it for the first time in their lives. The Grade II listed building is still in use, partly as a private residence, partly waiting room for railway passengers with the rest given over to a museum. Home to a range of displays, including railwayana, natural history and local archaeological finds, the museum is run by a dedicated group of volunteers and is well worth visiting.
