Overview

On the North Wales Coast Line, Conwy station serves the market town of Conwy. Fortified by its still-imposing walls, the town is a popular tourist destination, with a large number of visitors arriving at the pretty station.

Opened in 1848, the station closed again in 1966 for more than 20 years. When it reopened, the Anglicised spelling of the station name - Conway, was changed to Conwy to reflect the importance of the Welsh language.
