Overview
South Parkway is one of four stations serving Liverpool - the others being Central, James Street, and Lime Street. Finally opening after many delays in June 2006, the six platforms now cater for nearly 3 million people every year.
The station's innovative design has won Network Rail's annual Environment Awards for its sustainable ideas, including the use of solar energy, recycled roofing materials and rainwater harvesting. Even the timbers have been sustainably sourced. The passenger experience sits at the heart of this busy station.
