Overview
Rogerstone station, on the Ebbw Valley line, serves the South Wales town of Rogerstone. This new station was opened in 2008 to handle trains running between Ebbw Vale Parkway and Cardiff Central.
The small town of Rogerstone dates back to the 12th century when a castle was constructed by Roger de Haia; unfortunately, not much of the Norman motte and bailey building remains today. However, the town still has plenty to offer the visitor to the region, with beautiful countryside, the Monmouthshire and Brecon Canal, and an impressive Carnegie Library. Being located just a few miles outside of Newport makes it the ideal base to visit the city and see all that it has to offer.
