Due to severe weather between Shrewsbury (SHR) and Birmingham International (BHI):

Services will be cancelled in both directions between Shrewsbury (SHR) and Birmingham International (BHI).

We expect the incident to last until the end of the day and disruption to services is expected from 05:00 until the end of the day.

Due to a shortage of trains caused by extreme heat, we are unable to run services between Birmingham International and Shrewsbury in both directions

  • Transport for Wales ticket holders can use their tickets on West Midlands Railway between Shrewsbury and Birmingham New Street in both directions from 05:59 to the end of the day.

Update: Incident due to severe weather between Llandudno (LLD) and Blaenau Ffestiniog (BFF) until 21:37 on 26/06/2026.

Due to severe weather between Llandudno (LLD) and Blaenau Ffestiniog (BFF):

Services will be cancelled in both directions between Llandudno (LLD) and Blaenau Ffestiniog (BFF).

We expect the incident to last until 21:37 on 26/06/2026 and disruption to services is expected from 05:06 until 21:37 on 26/06/2026.

What's Happened?

Due to severe weather, the line is closed between Llandudno Junction and Blaenau Ffestiniog.

This means our services between Llandudno and Blaenau Ffestiniog are unable to run in either direction.

Please note we expect the line to be closed all day with all train services being replaced by Road replacement transport.

Alternative Travel Options

We have organised buses to serve all stations between Llandudno and Blaenau Ffestiniog to assist customers to complete journeys at no extra cost. These will be provided by Llew Jones.

Departures from Llandundo will be at 0506, 0714, 1016, 1319, 1616 and 1908

Deprtures from Blaenau Ffestiniog will be at 0606, 0820, 1118, 1422, 1717, and 2012

Extended journey times can be expected. Approximate journey times by replacement road transport calling at all stations are 15 minutes between Llandiudno and Llandundo Junction and 1 hour 10 minutes between Llandudno Junction and Blaenau Ffestiniog. Please allow extra time to complete your journey.

Due to severe weather between Manchester Piccadilly (MAN) and Cardiff Central (CDF):

Services may be cancelled from Manchester Piccadilly (MAN) towards Cardiff Central (CDF).

We expect the incident to last until 23:59 on 26/06/2026 and disruption to services is expected from 04:00 until 23:59 on 26/06/2026.

What's Happened?

Due to a shortage of trains caused by extreme heat, fewer services than normal will be able to run in both directions between Manchester Piccadilly and Cardiff Central via Crewe and Shrewsbury.

Customers are able to travel from Manchester Piccadilly to Crewe, Shrewsbury, and Cardiff Central on Transport for Wales services via Chester.

  • Birmingham New Street to Shrewsbury with West Midlands Railway

These arrangements are in place on services until the end of the day.

If you decide to travel from a different station due to this disruption and need to return to that station later, you will also be able to use your existing ticket to do this at no extra cost.

What's Happened?

Due to a shortage of trains caused by extreme heat, fewer services than normal will be able to run between Cardiff Central and Ebbw Vale Town. Services from Newport to Ebbw Vale Town are unaffected.

Services may be cancelled in both directions between Swansea (SWA) and Shrewsbury (SHR).

We expect the incident to last until 21:00 and disruption to services is expected until 21:00.

What's Happened?

Due to a shortage of trains caused by extreme heat, our Swansea to Shrewsbury services via Llandrindod are currently disrupted and expected to be affected until the end of the day. Our Heart of Wales Swansea to Shrewsbury services are currently affected in both directions.

We are currently sourcing replacement road transport.

Due to severe weather between Carmarthen (CMN) and Pembroke Dock (PMD):

Services may be cancelled in both directions between Carmarthen (CMN) and Pembroke Dock (PMD).

We expect the incident to last until 21:30 and disruption to services is expected from 17:30 until 21:30.

As a result of extreme weather we are experiencing faults on our trains, meaning services between Carmarthen and Pembroke Dock may be cancelled in both directions. We expect the incident to last until 21:30 and disruption until 21:30.

Alternative Travel Options:

We have organised buses to run between Carmarthen and Pembroke Dock to assist customers to complete journeys where possible at no extra cost. These will arrive at the following times and locations:

  • At Carmarthen departing at approximately 19:40 calling at all stops to Pembroke Dock - Provided by Cymry
  • At Pembroke Dock departing at approximately 21:07 calling at all stops to Carmarthen - Provided by Cymry

Road Transport will take longer than rail services. Please allow extra time to complete your journey.

Due to a points failure between Abercynon (ACY) and Aberdare Platform 1 (ABA):

Services will be delayed by up to 20 minutes.

Services may be cancelled in both directions between Aberdare Platform 1 (ABA) and Abercynon (ACY).

We expect the incident to last until further notice

What's Happened?

We have been made aware of a signalling problem affecting a set of points which switch trains between tracks at Abercynnon.

For safety, train services will be running more slowly than normal through the area.

Our colleagues at Network Rail/Amey Infrastructure are aware of the problem and Technicians are currently en route to the affected area/signalling.

We will publish more information here, once we have received an update from the infrastructure technicians.

We have road transport running between Pontypridd and Aberdare provided by Teulu and Thomas of Rhondda, to help you complete your journey, at no extra cost.

Services will depart at the following times:

Pontypridd XX:30 and XX:00 starting at 18:00

Aberdare XX:30 starting at 18:30

Services will also be suspended on the Merthyr line for 1 hour from 20:00. A bus service will leave Pontypridd just after 20:00 and at 21:00. These will call at all stops up and back.

What's Happened?

Hot weather has been forecast, Meaning train journeys may be subject to change. Please check before you travel.

A Shuttle will operate servicing stations - Coryton, Whitchurch, Rhiwbina, Birchgrove, Ty Glas and Heath Low Level in both directions. For passengers wishing to travel towards Cardiff Central or Rhymney, please change at Heath Low Level and walk to Heath High Level for connecting train services.

There will be a reduced service Between Cardiff Central and Penarth due to the severe weather forcast.
