Due to forecasted heavy snow between Carmarthen (CMN) and Milford Haven (MFH):

Services may be cancelled in both directions between Carmarthen (CMN) and Milford Haven (MFH).

We expect the incident to last until the end of the day and disruption to services is expected until the end of the day.

We expect the incident to last until the end of the day and disruption to services is expected until the end of the day.

Following service disruption due to severe weather services are now able to run. We're sorry for the disruption to your journey today.

Update: Incident due to forecasted heavy snow between Llanelli (LLE) and Shrewsbury (SHR) until the end of the day.

Due to forecasted heavy snow between Llanelli (LLE) and Shrewsbury (SHR):

Services may be cancelled in both directions between Swansea (SWA) and Shrewsbury (SHR).

We expect the incident to last until the end of the day and disruption to services is expected until the end of the day.

Network Rail have closed the Heart of Wales line between Llanelli and Shrewsbury due to heavy snowfall overnight. Inspections have discovered power lines down and fallen trees blocking the railway.


You cannot travel - there are no trains running and we are unable to run Rail Replacement Bus services. Local bus services may also be affected.


Customers with tickets dated for Thursday 8th and Friday 9th January 2026 can travel any day up to and including Monday 12th January 2026 at no extra cost.

Update: Incident due to a person being hit by a train between Crewe (CRE) and Wilmslow (WML) until 13:00.

Due to a person being hit by a train between Crewe (CRE) and Wilmslow (WML):

Services may be delayed by up to 30 minutes.

Services may be cancelled in both directions between Crewe (CRE) and Manchester Piccadilly (MAN).

We expect the incident to last until 13:00 and disruption to services is expected from 10:36 until 16:00.

The problem has now been rectified and services are now able to run. Residual delays and cancellations can be expected to TfW services until 1600. We're sorry for the disruption to your journey today.


Your ticket can be used on the following alternative routes to help you complete your journey, with the Train Operating Companies listed below at no extra cost:

  • Avanti West Coast between Manchester Piccadilly and Alderley Edge for Stockport.
  • Northern services between Manchester Piccadilly and Crewe via Stoke-on-Trent
  • Northern service between Manchester Piccadilly and Chester.


These arrangements are in place on services until further notice for customers who may continue to be disrupted this afternoon.

If you decide to travel from a different station due to this disruption and need to return to that station later, you will also be able to use your existing ticket to do this at no extra cost.

Update: Incident due to heavy snow between Shrewsbury (SHR) and Hereford (HFD) until the end of the day.

Due to heavy snow between Shrewsbury (SHR) and Hereford (HFD):

We expect the incident to last until the end of the day and disruption to services is expected until the end of the day.

Network Rail have reported heavy snowfall in the area between Hereford and Shrewsbury and closed the railway to all services. You cannot travel - there are no trains running and we are unable to run Rail Replacement Bus services.


Your ticket can be used on the following alternative routes to help you complete your journey, with the Train Operating Companies listed below at no extra cost:

  • West Midlands Railway between Shrewsbury and Birmingham New Street.
  • CrossCountry between Birmingham New Street and Bristol Parkway


These arrangements are in place on services until end of day.

If you decide to travel from a different station due to this disruption and need to return to that station later, you will also be able to use your existing ticket to do this at no extra cost.


You may use your ticket on the following alternative dates at no extra cost, but please note services may still be disrupted by heavy snowfall.

Due to forecasted severe weather between Shrewsbury (SHR) and Aberystwyth (AYW):

We expect the incident to last until the end of the day and disruption to services is expected until the end of the day.

Weather warnings for heavy sleet and snow are in place in the area, meaning rail services are likely to be delayed and cancelled. Due to the forecasted severe weather, we expect local road conditions to be poor so in the event of cancelled services, we may not be able to provide road transport.

Please check your journey and local weather forecasts before travelling.

Update: Incident due to forecasted heavy snow between Llandudno (LLD) and Llandudno Junction (LLJ) until the end of the day.

Due to forecasted heavy snow between Llandudno (LLD) and Llandudno Junction (LLJ):

Services may be cancelled in both directions between Llandudno (LLD) and Llandudno Junction (LLJ).

We expect the incident to last until the end of the day and disruption to services is expected until the end of the day.

Network Rail have reported weather warnings in the area and have closed the railway to all services. You cannot travel - there are no trains running and we are unable to run Rail Replacement Bus services.

Update: Incident due to forecasted severe weather between Cardiff Central (CDF) and Carmarthen (CMN) until the end of the day.

Due to forecasted severe weather between Cardiff Central (CDF) and Carmarthen (CMN):

We expect the incident to last until the end of the day and disruption to services is expected until the end of the day.

Weather warnings for heavy sleet and snow are in place in the area, meaning rail services are likely to be delayed and cancelled. Due to the forecasted severe weather, we expect local road conditions to be poor so in the event of cancelled services, we may not be able to provide road transport.

Following severe weather yesterday, Network Rail has closed the railway to all services. You cannot travel - there are no trains running and we are unable to run Rail Replacement Bus services.
