I am writing in response to your Freedom of Information request on Transport for Wales Rail Services’ Head of External Affairs.

Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act and our information access policy, I can confirm that we hold the information you require. You asked for:

Details of the job description, public advertisement details, and process used to fill the role of Head of External Affairs for Transport for Wales Rail Services.

Since November 2018, a consultant has provided services to Transport for Wales Rail Services in relation to the Head of External Affairs role. These services are being provided on a part-time, interim basis as the previous Head of External Affairs is on secondment.

These interim arrangements provide Transport for Wales Rail Services with the necessary coverage for a business-critical role and will continue until the conclusion of a recruitment process, which will aim to fill the Head of External Affairs role on a longer-term basis.

Transport for Wales Rail Services is currently developing the recruitment process for this role. Once the process is complete, the role will be advertised.
