Using the T Network
We all know how complicated scanning different websites to check train and bus times can be. Or checking different apps to get the latest travel updates. Or finding that safe route to walk or cycle home.
The T Network will make travelling simpler, smarter and more sustainable. It’s one network with one ticket and one timetable - run by one team. A network you know you can trust to get you from A to B.
Here’s what you can expect when you use it.
Planning your journey and buying tickets
We’re combining all our current apps, websites and portals into one easy-to-use digital experience for our customers and our colleagues. You’ll be able to plan your entire journey seamlessly on one app, one website and one account. Wherever you need to go in Wales, our handy digital travel companion will show you the best route by train, bus, walking, wheeling or cycling - or a combination of these. You can then choose what works for you.
If you prefer, you can chat to our friendly colleagues for help planning your journey. They’ll be happy to help and will have access to the same information as you.
Travelling on the T Network
If we’re to become Wales’ favourite way to travel, we know we have to make travel as easy as possible.
The T Network will be well signposted and colour-coded to make it easy for us all to get around, especially if you’re making an unfamiliar journey or need to make a connection.
Each mode of transport will have its own colour - red for rail, green for bus, blue for cycling and pink for walking. This will make it easy for you to tell which modes of transport are available at a station or interchange.
T Network transport interchanges will be located so you can easily switch between different bus services or between bus and rail. They’ll be located at key destinations including Wrexham and Shotton in North Wales and Cardiff in South Wales.
The T Network isn’t just about trains and buses though, it’s about making your complete journey as easy, safe and well-planned as possible. The T Network will be there for you whether you’re walking home from school, cycling to and from work or off out for the day to your favourite beach or walk in the country.
Taking the Metro
Part of the T Network, Metro is a modern, efficient and sustainable way to travel right across Wales - so we can all use our cars less and public transport, walking or cycling more.
Bus will be a big part of it. That’s why there’ll be integrated ticketing and timetables so you can make use of the most convenient bus and train services for you. Our new Metro trains will be faster and more frequent - on many routes, you’ll be able to ‘turn up and go’ and never wait more than 10 minutes for a train.
