The Pont [Bridge] Phil Bennett opened in 2023. It allows pedestrians and cyclists to safely cross the A484 and gives access the retail hub at Parc Trostre.

Welcoming e-bikes on National Cycle Route 5
Conwy County Borough Council decided to provide electric bike storage facilities with charging points and maintenance stands at key locations along National Cycle Route 5. This was in response to the increasing popularity of e-bikes and NCN5 as a long-distance cycling route.
A safe place for bikes at school
In 2024, Gwynedd Council decided to build new cycle storage facilities at Ysgol Cymerau Primary School in Pwllheli. This was in response to requests from schoolchildren and community leaders to create more safe spaces for pupils to store their bikes.
Building a new bridge in Merthyr Tydfil
In 2022, Merthyr Tydfil County Borough Council built a new bridge connecting Merthyr Tydfil town centre with the Taff Trail.
‘Crossing Bridges’ the painting of bridges on Active Travel routes in Barry and Penarth
In 2021, Vale of Glamorgan Council decided to make the Gladstone Bridge in Barry and Cogan Bridge at Penarth Marina into defining landmarks with hand-painted murals. This was in response to repeated graffitiing.
Improving the Taff Trail between Trallwn and Cilfynydd
In 2021/22, Rhondda Cynon Taf re-aligned a section of the Taff Trail between Trallwn and Clifynydd. This was in response to significant storm damage.
A new active travel bridge linking the city centre to Devon Place
In 2023, Newport City Council opened a new active travel bridge connecting Queensway to Devon Place near Newport train station.
