We love our football here in Cymru. 120,000 grassroots footballers make millions of journeys a year to take part in matches and training sessions. Our fans travel from every corner of Wales to watch their National Teams represent them on the world stage.

That’s why we’ve teamed up with the Football Association of Wales (FAW) to improve public transport for fans travelling to and from national matches and major Welsh fixtures. We’re exploring how we can make travelling by public transport a core part of Welsh football identity. Together we’re making match day travel easier, greener and more accessible.

We’re supporting Welsh football fans with more trains, more capacity and easier ways to buy train tickets before games, at all levels. As part of our partnership with FAW, our journey planning and ticketing services will be integrated into the Cymru Ticketing app. That means you can plan and book your travel to fixtures across Wales all in one place.

Train to game this autumn

We’re running a dedicated 22:44 direct service running from Cardiff Central to Holyhead after all three Cymru home fixtures in the UEFA Nations League, building on a successful trial held during the World Cup play-offs.

The service will next run on:

Tuesday 17 November - Wales v Portugal

Taking the train or other public transport is a great way to get to the game and home again safely. Skip the traffic and parking chaos and enjoy yourself after the match without stressing about getting home. You can score a goal for the planet too!

Early bird ticket prices for Wales Women v Norway are available until 12:00 on Tuesday 3 November. Tickets for the match are available on the FAW ticketing website here.

Save on match day travel with our Family ticket

Our Family ticket is a Single or Return train ticket that allows up to two children under 16 to travel free across our network, including to matches, with each fare-paying adult.
