Due to more trains than usual needing repairs at the same time between Newport (South Wales) (NWP) and Ebbw Vale Town (EBB):

Services may be cancelled in both directions between Newport (South Wales) (NWP) and Ebbw Vale Town (EBB).

We expect the incident to last until 11:47 and disruption to services is expected until 11:47.

  • Route 56 provided by Stagecoach South Wales between Newport and Crosskeys via Rogerstone and Ponytmister.
  • Route X15 provided by Stagecoach South Wales between Newport and Llanhilleth via Rogerstone, Crosskeys and Newbridge.
  • Route 151 provided by Stagecoach South Wales between Newport and Newbridge via Pye Corner, Rogerstone, Pontymister, Risca and Crosskeys.
  • Route 1 provided by Newport Bus between Newport and Rogerstone via Pye Corner.

We have organised buses to run between x and x to assist customers to complete journeys where possible at no extra cost. These will arrive at x at approximately x provided by x.

Due to more trains than usual needing repairs at the same time between Shrewsbury (SHR) and Aberystwyth (AYW):

Services will be cancelled in both directions between Shrewsbury (SHR) and Aberystwyth (AYW).

We expect the incident to last until the end of the day and disruption to services is expected from 03:00 until the end of the day.

What's Happened?

We expect to have a reduced number of trains available on Tuesday 14th July whilst our depot teams continue to work to ensure our on board air conditioning is fully functional.

There will be no services running between Machynlleth and Aberystwyth in either direction. A reduced service will run between Machynlleth and Shrewsbury in both directions.

Alternative Travel Options

You can use the following local bus services to help you complete your journey, at no extra cost:

  • Route X85 provided by Lloyds Coaches between Machynlleth and Newtown.
  • Route T2 and T28 provided by Lloyds Coaches between Machynlleth and Aberystwyth.

We have organised buses to run between Shrewsbury and Aberystwyth to assist customers to complete journeys where possible at no extra cost. These will be provided by Lloyds Coaches. These arrangements are in place on services until the end of the day. You can find the times for these services for your journey using our journey planner at tfw.wales.

Due to more trains than usual needing repairs at the same time between Wolverhampton (WVH) and Birmingham International (BHI):

Services will be cancelled in both directions between Wolverhampton (WVH) and Birmingham International (BHI).

We expect the incident to last until 20:00 and disruption to services is expected until 20:00.

What's Happened?

We expect to have a reduced number of trains available on Tuesday 14th July whilst our depot teams work to ensure our on board air conditioning is fully functional.

This means Transport For Wales services will start and terminate at Wolverhampton instead of Birmingham New Street or Birmingham International today.

Rail services between Wolverhampton and Shrewsbury are expected to be busy meaning conditions on board could be very warm. Customers who are feeling unwell should consider whether they need to travel. If you do travel, you should bring water, stay hydrated and speak to a member of the onboard team immediately if you begin to feel unwell.

Services will be cancelled in both directions between Chester (CTR) and Wrexham General (WRX).

We expect the incident to last until the end of the day and disruption to services is expected until the end of the day.

What's Happened?

We expect to have a reduced number of trains available on Tuesday 14th July whilst our depot teams work to ensure our on board air conditioning is fully functional.

This means a reduced number of services are able to run between Wrexham General and Chester in both directions.

Customers are advised to travel on the next available service where possible.

Due to a fault with the signalling system between Chester (CTR) and Crewe (CRE):

Services will be cancelled in both directions between Chester (CTR) and Crewe (CRE).

We expect the incident to last until 15:00 and disruption to services is expected until 15:00.

What's Happened?

We have been made aware of a signalling problem between Chester and Crewe:

As a result, train services will not be able to run through the area until the signalling system is working normally.

Our colleagues at Network Rail are aware of the problem and technicians are currently en route to the affected signalling.

We will publish more information here, once we have received an update from the infrastructure technicians.
