About our graduate programme
We’re offering a two-year graduate programme to develop our future leaders. It’s an opportunity to get your career off to a good start, working in a dynamic team that’s changing the way a nation travels.
You’ll choose a specialism such as transport planning, finance, engineering, HR or business management and rotate between different teams that work in your chosen discipline. You’ll get hands-on experience of projects that are reshaping Wales' transport network.
The scheme provides structured mentorship, access to workshops and financial support for your professional qualifications.

- Who do I contact if I have any questions about the recruitment process?

- Where will I be based?

You’ll be based at either our Pontypridd headquarters or our Cardiff or Wrexham offices, depending on the role requirements. Sometimes you’ll travel around our transport network as part of your role.

- When would I start and how long is the scheme?
-
You’ll start in September 2025. Typically, it’s a 22-month fixed-term contract. Some roles require a longer contract term due to the time it takes to complete the professional qualification. For example, finance graduates will either undertake a three or four year fixed-term contract in alignment with ACCA or CIMA.

- Can I apply for more than one graduate role?

Yes, if you have a relevant degree for the roles you’re interested in. You’ll only need to go through the recruitment process once.

- Can I apply if I've already graduated?

Yes, you can. You must have graduated by September 2025.

- Will I be able to study for professional status while on the scheme?
-
We’ll provide you with financial support and study leave to achieve your chosen professional status. We’ll provide you with up to £5,000 to work towards your professional qualification.

- What will the application process involve?

You’ll need to complete an application form. It will include several questions to help us get to know you. The form should take around one hour to complete. Don’t worry - you can save your progress, so you don’t need to complete it all in one go.

- What will the selection process involve?

If your application is shortlisted, we’ll invite you to attend an assessment day at our headquarters in Pontypridd. It includes an introduction to the programme, “icebreakers” and activities to help you learn more about the role.

If you’re successful at the assessment day, you’ll be invited to attend an interview, either in-person or virtually.

The scheme provides support to help you thrive both personally and professionally.

You’ll be enrolled in our Early Talent Development Programme from day one. This includes tailored training and workshops to develop your technical and leadership skills.

You’ll be paired with a mentor who’ll provide guidance throughout the programme.

Your line manager will provide ongoing feedback and help you understand your role.

You’ll have regular check-ins with our Early Talent team, where you can discuss your progress, challenges and next steps.

Before the end of the scheme, you and your manager will discuss your career aspirations, strengths and goals.
