Update: Incident due to a fault with the signalling system between Swansea (SWA) and Carmarthen (CMN) until 13:30.

Due to a fault with the signalling system between Swansea (SWA) and Carmarthen (CMN):

Services will be cancelled from Swansea (SWA) towards Carmarthen (CMN).

We expect the incident to last until 13:30 and disruption to services is expected from 12:00 until 14:00.

What's Happened?

We have been made aware of a signalling problem at Kidwelly.

As a result, train services will not be able to run through the area until the signalling system is working normally.

Our colleagues at Network Rail are on site and taking a block of the railway to rectify the issue, which will close the railway between Swansea and Carmarthen until 13:30.

The following train services are affected as follows:

The 10:54 from Cardiff Central to Pembroke Dock will terminate at Swansea and restart at Carmarthen at 12:52, with replacement road transport operating in its place between Swansea and Carmarthen to help customers to complete their journeys.

We will publish more information here, once we have received an update from the infrastructure technicians.

Alternative Travel Options

We have road transport at Swansea running between Swansea and Carmarthen, this will depart Swansea at 12:10 provided by Cyrmru Coaches, to help you complete your journey, at no extra cost.

These arrangements are in place on services until 13:30

Road Transport will take longer than rail services. Please allow extra time to complete your journey.

Services will be delayed by up to 10 minutes.

We expect the incident to last until 12:00 and disruption to services is expected from 10:45 until 12:00.

Pay as you go customers

If all or part of your journey requires a rail replacement bus, please tap in at your origin station and tap out at your destination. If you need to tap out at a gateline after travelling on a rail replacement bus, our station colleagues can assist. You can also add any missing taps using our app or website.

Pay as you go is only valid on Transport for Wales and CrossCountry services, even where we state you can use your original ticket at no extra cost with other train operators or local bus operators. If you travel with another operator or on a local bus service, you must first tap out at the same station within one hour of tapping in and buy an alternative ticket before boarding.

If you wish to abandon your journey, please tap out at the same station within one hour of tapping in.

Additional information 

Any non-standard requests will incur additional charges.
Filming is not permitted within peak hours - except by prior approval
On-board filming does not give sole use of any areas, if these are required, additional charged will be made on a case-by-case basis
Requests for short term access will carry a 50% surcharge if accepted
All costs are exclusive of VAT
