Due to a road vehicle colliding with a bridge between Wrexham Central (WXC) and Bidston (BID):
Services may be delayed by up to 30 minutes.
Services may be cancelled in both directions between Wrexham Central (WXC) and Bidston (BID).
We expect the incident to last until 12:00 and disruption to services is expected until 13:00.
What's Happened?
A road vehicle has hit a railway bridge between Wrexham Centrall and Bidston in the Cefn-y-Bedd area meaning trains cannot run over the bridge until the line is inspected. Network Rail staff are currently en route to the affected bridge. Please check back for more information. We apologise for the disruption caused to your journey
Alternative Travel Options
We have organised buses to run between Birkenhead North and Wrexham Central to help you complete your journey, at no extra cost.
The Wrexham Central all stops to Birkenhead North service will at approximately 11:00 at Wrexham Central provided by Keanes.
The Birkenhead North all stops to Wrexham Central service will arrive at approximately 11:00 at Wrexham Central provided by Keanes.
These arrangements are in place on services until 13:00.
Road Transport will take longer than rail services. Please allow extra time to complete your journey.

Due to more trains than usual needing repairs at the same time between Shrewsbury (SHR) and Aberystwyth (AYW):
We expect the incident to last until 23:00 on 18/09/2026 and disruption to services is expected from 05:38 on 18/09/2026 until 23:00 on 18/09/2026.
We have been made aware of more trains than usual needing repairs at the same time, affecting our services between Shrewsbury and Aberystwyth on Friday 18th September 2026.
As a result, the following services have been cancelled:
- 05:38 Machynlleth to Aberystwyth
- 06:17 Aberystwyth to Shrewsbury
- 06:48 Welshpool to Aberystwyth
- 08:27 Aberystwyth to Shrewsbury
- 10:27 Shrewsbury to Aberystwyth
- 12:27 Aberystwyth to Shrewsbury
- 16:30 Shrewsbury to Aberystwyth
- 18:27 Aberystwyth to Shrewsbury
- 20:32 Shrewsbury to Aberystwyth
- 22:35 Aberystwyth to Machynlleth
Our services between Shrewsbury and Aberystwyth are disrupted in both directions.
We expect the incident to be cleared by 23:00. Train services may be disrupted until 23:00.
Alternative Travel Options:
We have organised buses to run between Machynlleth and Aberystwyth, and Aberystwyth and Shrewsbury to assist customers to complete journeys where possible at no extra cost. These will arrive at:
- Machynlleth at approximately 05:38 provided by Lloyds, calling all stops to Aberystwyth.
- Aberystwyth at approximately 06:17 provided by Lloyds, calling all stops to Shrewsbury.
- Welshpool at approximately 06:48 provided by Lloyds, calling all stops to Aberystwyth.
- Shrewsbury at approximately 20:32 provided by Lakeside and RH Travels, calling all stops to Aberystwyth.
- Aberystwyth at approximately 22:35 provided by Lloyds, calling all stops to Machynlleth.
Please note: rail replacement services are unable to call at Dovey Junction due to geographical restrictions.
These arrangements are in place on services until 23:00.
