Update: Incident due to a fault with the signalling system at Prestatyn (PRT) until 11:00.

Due to a fault with the signalling system at Prestatyn (PRT):

Services may be delayed by up to 45 minutes.

We expect the incident to last until 11:00 and disruption to services is expected until 11:00.

What's Happened?

We have been made aware of a signalling problem at Prestatyn.

Our services between Holyhead and Manchester Airport as well as between Llandudno and Liverpool Lime Street are disrupted in both directions.

For safety, train services will be running more slowly than normal through the area, with residual delays of around 20 minutes to be expected.

Our colleagues at Network Rail are aware of the problem and Technicians are currently en route to the affected signalling.

We will publish more information here, once we have received an update from the infrastructure technicians.

Due to more trains than usual needing repairs at the same time between Llandudno Junction (LLJ) and Llandudno (LLD):

Services will be cancelled in both directions between Llandudno Junction (LLJ) and Llandudno (LLD).

We expect the incident to last until 12:00 and disruption to services is expected from 05:22 until 12:00.

What's Happened?

Due to a shortage of trains, fewer trains are able to run between Llandudno Junction and Llandudno

Services will be cancelled in both directions between Cardiff Central (CDF) and Cheltenham Spa (CNM).

We expect the incident to last until the end of the day and disruption to services is expected from 06:00 until the end of the day.

What's Happened?

Due to a shortage of trains, Transport for Wales trains are unable to run between Cardiff Central and Cheltenham Spa in either directions.

We apologise for the disruption caused to your journey. We are currently sourcing alternative road transport, please check back later for operator details.

Alternative Travel Options

Your ticket can be used on the following alternative routes to help you complete your journey, with the Train Operating Companies listed below at no extra cost:

  • CrossCountry services between Cardiff Central and Cheltenham Spa in both directions
  • GWR services between Cardiff Central and Severn Tunnel Junction in both directions

These arrangements are in place until the end of the day.

Due to more trains than usual needing repairs at the same time between Newport (South Wales) (NWP) and Ebbw Vale Town (EBB):

Services may be cancelled in both directions between Newport (South Wales) (NWP) and Ebbw Vale Town (EBB).

We expect the incident to last until 20:00 and disruption to services is expected from 06:00 until 20:00.

What's Happened?

Due to a shortage of trains, fewer trains are able to run between Newport and Ebbw Vale Town. You can use your ticket on the next available service at no extra cost.

We apologise for the disruption caused to your journey.

Alternative Travel Options:

Customers can use local bus services to complete journeys where possible at no extra cost:

  • Route 56 provided by Stagecoach South Wales between Newport and Crosskeys via Rogerstone and Ponytmister.
  • Route X15 provided by Stagecoach South Wales between Newport and Llanhilleth via Rogerstone, Crosskeys and Newbridge.
  • Route 151 provided by Stagecoach South Wales between Newport and Newbridge via Pye Corner, Rogerstone, Pontymister, Risca and Crosskeys.

These arrangements are in place on services from 06:00 - 20:00

Due to checking reports of an obstruction on the line between Cardiff Central (CDF) and Heath High Level (HHL):

Services will be delayed by up to 15 minutes.

Services will be cancelled in both directions between Cardiff Queen Street (CDQ) and Caerphilly (CPH).

We expect the incident to last until further notice and disruption to services is expected from 13:00 until 16:00.

Services are now returning to normal. We're sorry for the disruption to your journey today.
