Long Course Weekend Wales

Long Course Weekend Wales is one of the biggest multisport festivals in Europe, held each year in Tenby, Pembrokeshire. Across four days, athletes and supporters take part in swimming, cycling and running events, while the town comes alive with live entertainment and a vibrant atmosphere.

Whether you’re taking part or cheering from the sidelines, travelling by train is an easy, more sustainable way to get there.

 

Getting to Long Course Weekend

Tenby is well-connected by rail, making it simple to avoid road closures and parking restrictions during the event.

We’re putting on additional capacity and amended services across the Long Course Weekend period to help you travel more comfortably.

Extra services and changes (25, 26 and 29 June)

To support the event, we’ve strengthened services and added direct connections to Tenby, including extra space for bikes with our Active Travel trains.

Key improvements include:

  • Selected services extended or diverted to start or finish in Tenby.
  • More carriages on key journeys.
  • Additional services between Swansea, Carmarthen and Tenby.
  • Active Travel carriages added to provide more space for bikes and equipment.

These changes are designed to make travelling to and from the event smoother, especially at peak times.
