Cardiff Bus Interchange

Operated by Transport for Wales, the interchange is a centralised hub with 14 bus bays. It offers better connections to and between different transport modes including bus, rail, walking, cycling and wheeling. It’ll help us better meet the transport needs of people and businesses across the city and the region.

The interchange is part of our wider plan for ‘Metro Central’, an integrated transport hub that allows easy use and access to all modes of public transport on a ‘turn up and go’ basis in the heart of Cardiff.

Modes of travel

Where is the interchange and what times will it be open?

You’ll find us at Cardiff Bus Interchange, Central Square, Cardiff, CF10 1GF

View on Google Maps

The interchange will open before the first bus service of the day departs and close after the last departure of the day.

A hub for transport information

Cardiff Bus Interchange is a hub for transport information. Our colleagues are on-hand to answer your questions, making it familiar and easy to use. They can tell you how you can access services at the interchange as well as nearby on-street bus services. They can help you plan your journey, advising you on the best route to take.

Cardiff Bus Interchange and Cardiff Central railway station are just a 50-meter walk apart and the two teams will work as one.

There’s clear customer information and wayfinding at the interchange, including live departure and arrival times of buses, and trains at Cardiff Central - helping you travel seamlessly by both bus and rail.
